4CornerBox (The Box)

This is an amazing 12 in 1 educational game that is not only easy to use, easy to play but encourages you to think and allows you to play by yourself or with others.

Let me introduce myself to you, My name is Phil, and I have two young children who I enjoy playing games with. I favour any type of game which will encourage them to think and learn.

With that in mind and the fact that I wanted to reduce their screen time and encourage family time. I designed this game to be compact, versatile and child friendly. It encourages them to think both laterally, critically and “outside the box”. I wanted to make the most of the available space and after numerous designs, I settled on this design as it allows the user to play upwards of 12 games.

Once I had the blocks designed, I then set about designing the outer box as I wasn’t happy with cardboard packaging as they tend to get bent, ripped or torn. I designed the outer box not only to store and transport the game blocks but also to be utilized during game play as racks/game piece holders.

After I finished building 4CornerBox and wrote the included rule book. I wanted to test it on different groups to see how appealing my game could be. I found that due to the number of games included this meant that there was virtually something for everyone.
